Cry baby? If anything that would be applied to most of the people in this thread.

Anyways like I said Adaman your friend needs to grow up, he will soon be a senior in college. Waiting til Christmas day for a gift he already knows about? Seems juvenile as hell.

Wow mom! you bought.. .me an Xbox 360...

*Runs off and plays it with no surprise or thanks whatsoever.

See, this is why I feel like you haven't read the thread yet. I don't think it's crazy to wait to open present on Christmas. I just found it odd that an adult would pay for half of something, have another person pay for the other half as an Xmas gift, and then wrap it up and put it under the tree for over a month. But, now I know that method of buying presents is much more common than i thought. That's all this thread is about, you could put any other item in the Xbox360's place in my OP and I still would of made the thread, it wasn't about the Xbox360, it was about that method of buying gifts, that I was previously unfamiliar with. I thought the idea of wrapping up gifts is for people to open the gift and be surprised by it, but that's just the way we do it here, and may not be the way everyone else does. That is FINE, and it doesn't bother me anymore. It had bothered when thinking about it when i made the thread because it just struck me as a weird thing to do. If people were to disagree that it was weird, I have no problem with that, and expected replies like that. What I didn't expect is that everyone would go apeshit and start putting words into my mouth and saying cruel things, calling it bitching, whining, crying, and repeatedly saying "U GOT PWNED HAHHAHAH". Grow the hell up. Yes, I am telling you to do this, and I can't believe it came to that either, because I'm still young, but I'm smart, and feel I'm right on this issue and will keep fighting it, no matter how many people wanna say mean things at me.

I know no one else will admit they were wrong. And yes, I am enjoying standing up for myself, and will continue to do so, thanks for asking. I'm not angry at all, I'm sorry this turned out how it did, but I'm not angry at anyone, just still baffled by all of this.

Why do i have to keep explaining this in so many ways? People are acting ridiculous, I could have never imagined the outcome of this thread. I figured it would just get 10 or so replies anyways. I've done nothing i'm regretful for in this thread, if you don't like it, that's too bad.

As I've said multiple times before in this thread, it doesn't matter if he paid for half of it. As long as he receives gifts from his superiors he has to follow their rules. If that means being "whipped" or whatever the hell you and Andyb23 are calling it, then so be it. Waiting an extra month for a special holiday is nothing and for you to complain about it when the only effect it has on you is not being able to use his property is the sign of a whiner.

Had you asked your question without all the unnecessary whining you would not have been flamed. It's really as simple as that.

He always comes over here to play games (PS2, Dreamcast, Gamecube, anything really) and I don't mind that at all, I don't feel like he's leeching off me or something. It's just something fun to do. All I want is for us to have something fun to do, and Xbox 360 is something kinda new, and would provide that.

So because he's always over at your house playing video games, you are entitled to play his 360 NOW. I know you'll say that "I have no problem with him playing games at my house", so ask yourself this, why did you add that you've been at his house for 20 minutes over the past 5 years? Hmmmm?

Well, you wrote that to show that there is a great disparity in the amount of time spent at each others' houses playing games. In other words, "He is always using our stuff, so it only seems fair for us to use his stuff now". If you truly didn't care if he plays games at your house you never would have kept a "scorecard", much less included that in your reply here.

Also, if "you could put any other item in the Xbox360's place in my OP and I still would of made the thread, it wasn't about the Xbox360, it was about that method of buying gifts" why all of the background info about who plays what video games where? That's right. Because it IS about the 360.

Throw in various insults/vulgarities/put downs directed to anyone who's disagreeing with you, and you come off as very immature.

You haven't given your age yet, either, OP. I'm guessing younger than 21.

I never called it being whipped, I never even mentioned anything that would suggest that. I was just questioning that method. You keep putting in words that aren't there. Calling other people whiners doesn't make you smarter, you need to get over that. It's fine if that's what his family's "rules" are, I was just questioning this method of buying gifts, and asking if it's a common thing.

Am I really alone on this though? No one will back me up or apologize for overreacting?

I know we'll play it together when he gets it set up, because we are friends, and friends play video games together. I would find it odd if he didn't want me to play his Xbox360 with him, I'm sure he'll play it alone a lot more often, but I have no problem with that either. I mentioned that I've only been at his house 20 minutes in the last 5 or so years because people are calling me a moocher, and that's my evidence to back it up.

We are friends, and we hang out. I don't mind if he's over here playing games, and he wouldn't mind if i was over at his place playing games. I didn't keep a scorecard or bullshit like that, and it's dumb even to suggest it.

Obviously this thread is about the 360, and I tried to be detailed in providing information to set the scene. But, this thread could of easily have been about another item, even if i wanted nothing to do with it.

The only person i've actually insulted or put down is HamburgerBoy. Haven't insulted anyone else in this thread, even though I've been insulted many many times.

You did not specifically question his method of buying gifts, no matter how many times you may say otherwise. And who said anything about being smart?

Your general style of posting would outweighs any possibility of you not being a moocher, "evidence" or not. Seriously, you would find it odd that he doesn't want you to play with his X-Box 360? Obviously your friend would be a complete idiot to pass up the opportunity to compete against someone like you. Why, if the two of you sit close enough together you may even manage to cause the world to revolve around both of your lives!

I don't know how your friends are, but mine wouldn't think twice about letting me play video games with them, we'd just do it, because it's a fun thing to do. I wouldn't think about not letting buddies of mine play games with me, wouldn't make them sit and watch me or something. What kinda friends do you have? :p

I just read the OP differently than everyone else sees it apparently...there's no other way this can be explained. I've done my best to explain everything (read all my replies) but people are reading something other than what I'm seeing, that's all I can imagine.

There's a difference between having friends that let you play their video games and expecting your friends to offer to play their video games, idiot. You continue to make one self-centered post after another and you just won't stop.

I'm going down with this train wreck :p - People have no argument against me still, there's no reason to be angry at me or frustrated at all. I have explained everything entirely but people just feel like stepping on other people I guess.
