Eh bleh delete/lock

that would work great, until the university switched textbooks without you knowing, leaving you with a bunch of useless books. I'm sure something like this has been tried before, but I can't quite pinpoint it.

It's doable. You can buy it off people at school then sell it on amazon for higher. That way, you dont have to worry about looking like a dooche bag for selling a book for double what you bought in front of your friends at school. Also the compatibility issue is solved since theres a good chance atleast one school is teaching w/ the book you have.

But your school would shut you down for sure. The bookstore makes them a lot of money. Why should they tolerate competition?

you're right, kilgor. i give out gold on this forum like it's candy and people steal my lines. time to start chargin a fee anaw.

That's a really good point. Picking up books will definitely be easier, selling them might be a little tougher.

And as for competition, we'd really only need to focus on a handful of classes in the beginning probably..and with hundreds of classes around it'd be tough to find a competing student with a similar idea.

And what could the school do exactly? Are there any laws that would not allow this?

There's no laws. But it's their school, and their rules. If they tell you you can't buy books at school from other students... Then you can't do it. They can do anything they want to you.

eh, dont most schools have a place to tack up an ad...sell the damn book yourself and make profit.

course theres always new @!#% editions of books every other year

How many readers are there on a Friday night/Saturday morning at 4am/7am?

Certainly not a lot of mod action, that's for sure 🙂
