Does anyone have any experience with the eggstractor? It's that "As Seen on TV" kitchen product that's supposed to peel hard-boiled eggs like magic. Are they full of crap, or does it really work?

I don't eat hardboiled eggs that often, but when I do it doesn't take much effort to peel them...

How many eggs do you think I want to peel? 1? 2?

I don't just prepare them for myself. I make a mean egg salad and an even meaner deviled egg, and I go through a LOT of eggs. Every time my girlfriend and I go grocery shopping we buy 5 dozen (as 2 cartons of the 2 1/2 dozen). I probably end up eating a half a dozen in a sitting.

I called in during the 60 mini promotion and got a 2nd eggstractor, a 12 piece knife set, a juicer, a portable hair dryer, 24 bottles of spring water, an automobile dent removal kit, and a 1 year subscription to Home Owner at no extra cost.

And it all folds up and stores under your bed? Me too!

That's alot of eggs, maybe you should get your cholesterol checked. One egg a day is considered moderate egg consumption that won't affect your cholesterol level, but 6 per sitting seems like alot, unless you don't eat eggs for the rest of the week.

My mom bought one, since she has to buy everything new and exciting. It doesn't work, though I did manage to smack myself in the head when i attempted to use it.

Mother in law got one and said it works great. I tried it, seemed OK, but I rather peel them myself.

All these negative comments but no poll scores to go with 'em....

Something's wrong with that picture.

Hardboiled eggs don't sound or look appealing.

I just scramble mine or make tasty omellettes.

Are eggs better than bad for you? I'm thinkin so...

I make a mean pan of eggs. It's the thing I do the best in the kitchen, other than eating of course. (Anybody who eats like I do is usually 300+ pounds. My metabolism is insane.) When I cook up omelettes for myself, I like to use ALL KINDS of stuff to put in there. The eggs are probably only half the weight.

mushrooms
olives
salsa (Wal-Mart lime garlic is good)
cheese
cold cuts (whatever's on hand... pastrami is really good)
tomatoes
sprouts (when it's on hand)
feta cheese

I usually add more as the thought strikes me. It's a good salad when I get finished. It's like making a sub sandwich with an egg bun. Oh so good....

Did I mention I love eggs? They're so cheap, too!

These are the words of a person who was never asked to make the "f*cking deviled eggs" for the family get-together.

I've actually got one in my cabinet for that fateful day...I've never actually tried it because I never have to shell more than a couple of eggs at a time so I forget to use it.

Saturated fat has more of an effect on cholesterol in your body than dietary cholesterol itself. Have you ever looked at what some fast food restaurants are passing off as "healty" alternatives? At least I'm better off than your typical burger chain customer.

(I have to admit, however, that my weakness is Taco Bell. That's supposedly the worst fast food restaurant there is!)

It's not good to have too much of anything, so I do vary my diet widely.
