Egghead is bankrupt....finaly.

It's about time that POS company went under. So far, the winning bidder for what's left is Fry's. Man, I can't count the number of times I had issues with Egghead!

Fry's is going online. Well, better late than never I guess. Don't you think they should have moved in earlier? The revenue that would have been generated from an actual frys.com is mind boggling. I cannot count the number of times I have heard the quote, "I wish there was a Fry's where I live."

I hope Frys will offer the same great deals on the online store. I live 40 miles from Frys and it's just too far to drive for a pack of cds.

From what I hear about Fry's, they may well fall to the same fate UNLESS they shape up. I hear many rumours about shrinkwrapped items that were bought and had previously been used. At least when they are local, you can return the item again without any financial hassles.

If folks order stuff and have to pay shipping back to return things that are not new... let's just say Fry's can't do that anylonger.

So, we'll see what happens. I hope it works out.

It's kinda sad too though... I remember being 15 years old and walking into an Egghead store to get 5-1/4" floppy disks for my Commodore 64.

(Actually I never purchased from them once they went online, so I really have no relevant comment)

What's worse is that Egghead took over OnSale and merged their operations. Personally, I never had any issues with OnSale. Needless to say, I never purchased anything from Egghead once they took over OnSale.
