Efficient way to partition HD?

Hey guys I just got 120g WD SE and wondering what's best way to partition this monster

Also I have 40g 7200rpm 2mb drive.

is it best to RAID these suckers together or have it set as master and slave.

let me hear ur thoughts thanks.

normally, when you raid drives, they recommend that they are all the same type and size... What kind of raid are you talking?

Not really grasp the technicallity of RAID but it's some sort of different interface other than IDE right....

so if i don't have same type of drives together then it's not worth it?

if you try to setup a raid array with those drives you will only have 80 gig total to use. the array sets 1/2 on one drive and 1/2 on the other. FAQ. Unless the 120 is an 8mb casce drive i would use the 40 as a single dive for the OS and the 120 as a single for eveything else.
good luck

Hmm...interesting Chuck.... I was thinking in reverse to what u wrote...

I was thinking since 129g SE is better in performance-wise i thought i would use it as OS and data drive.

and for 40gig..data drive also.

Never thought raid could decrease my hd capacity, and i need to learn more about this...thanks
