effects of lifting weight on arm tattoo?

I've been lifting for a couple months now - and a couple friends and I are going to get tattoo's - I haven't really thought much about what exactly I want - but am curious if I should wait until I'm satisfied lifting-wise... will bicep muscles somehow stretch it over time?

You probably will not have to worry about it. I seriously doubt you will be growing 20"+ Mr. Olympia sized biceps anytime soon 🙂

so should I wait until I'm satisfied with how much i can lift - and then get a tattoo (if I get one)?

well the issue is that for about 6 months I lost a lot of weight (on purpose - knowing I would lose muscle mass since I had a lot of muscle to start with) - I'm trying to gain 'some' back.. but we're not talking that much - mainly just toning

Anytime you are talking about weight lifting or body work you also bring up the possibility of stretch marks and the ability of your arm to change shape. If you really want a tatoo, I would suggest getting it somewhere that you feel won't be changing much over the years and especially not an area you are actively working to improve/modify.

Your arm muscles are some of the smallest in your body, relatively speaking. It takes a looooong time to add any appreciable size to them. Even then, most people will not be able to have exceptionally large (> 18") arms no matter what they do.

It's not so much the actual size increase but about the scabbing/healing. If you lift the scabbing will tear off prematurely causing more scarring and less color saturation.

If you get a girl on your arm then get really serious about ther weight lifting she will get fat or really tall. 🙂
