Lots of cars come from the factory with these now. When Mercedes had this feature, i think it was said those cars were next to impossible to steal and drive off. Is this still the case with this feature?

I do notice that once civics and accords got this feature, those model years were no longer on the top ten stolen vehicles.
 
I should be more clear, I mean how car keys have computer chips in them now that link up to the car.
