Just heard on the nightly news that as my folks were fearing, the EEOC approved a measure that would kick a 4 year old court ruling out the window today in favor of allowing companies to cut or completely remove health care benefits to their retirees in liue of Medicare. The 4 year old court ruling stated it was age discrimination for an employer to do such a thing.

The representitive (a smug bitch) from the EEOC stated that the rising cost of health blah blah fvckety blah blah is the reason.

So again, instead of demanding some sort of reform on the fvcks that run the insurance companies, people like my mom, dad, your mom, and dad who in some cases worked for the same company for 45 years are now going to loose their health insurance. Every day it is something else, we are here bickering over who is better, Bush or Kerry, when the people who got us to this point are getting continually kicked in their sacks.

When will someone stand up and demand change?

seriously tho, do you have a link or something? the EEOC doesn't kick court rulings out the window per se...

but, yes, health insurance is expensive and one of many fiscal crises looming in our (and our childrens') futures.

Thanks, forgot my tags. Anywho, since I heard it on NBC's nightly news from Mr. B, I linked their site:

I love this line the most:

it?s to give employers facing soaring health care costs flexibility, so that they can avoid having to eliminate retiree health plans.

No, it is time to STOP the soaring health care costs. Not time to screw people in light of them.

Clearly between paying for retirees healthcare or having the govt pay for it, employees will pick the latter. I think it also explains why my Ford stock has been up lately ;)
