Well, I just ordered a P3-750. It came in, and I tried some overclocking with the default heatsink. It wouldn't even run stable at 900, so I ordered a gorb. The gorb came in, and I set it for 900. The computer would not boot, at which poit I set the voltage to 1.8v. It booted, I went into BIOS setup, fiddled around a bit, but didn't really change anything. So it went to reboot, and it did nothing. I reset the motherboard and changed the voltage back to the default. Still nothing. I even tried running at 66MHz, and that didn't work either. I have an AOpen AX63pro mobo, using an Abit Slotket (2 or 3, I can't remember, I'm at work now). My question is how could I have POSSIBLY fired my CPU with a gorb firmly attached to it? If I had tried 1.9v I might understand it, but 1.8 is only .15 off spec.

Also, I know o/c'ing voids the warranty, but is there any way Intel can tell? Is it possible for me to send it back and say it was faulty? I really can't stand the thought of just tossing $200 down the drain.
Thanks,
Rob :Q

i think u may have fried the CPU you should have waited a while before you attemted to overclock the CPU. jacking up the voltage may have been the cause.

About the warenty they may not be able to tell just make sure that you havn't put any marks on the CPU and they should change it for u.

Running 1.9 V right now, which is 0.4 V above the recommended voltage of a Celemine. :Q I ran it at 1.8 V the first day.

1.8 V is definitely no prob with a GOrb and a PIII 750 (assuming you have the right GOrb). Just make sure everything is jumpered and set correctly. I wouldn't be surprised if the chip is fine. (I'm guessing you're running an Abit Slotket !!!. I didn't think a Slotket !! worked with Cumine, but I could be wrong.)
