I was estimating it would be ~ 24k after the first year, but it seems i was off by a tad. I was even out of the country for almost 2 months, i was sure that would have helped keep it down.

Oh well, on a good note, almost 30k miles on my 05 Mazda3 and not a SINGLE problem (knock on tempered glass). I wish i could have said the same for my Vdubs... My jetta and passat had been in the shop numerous times by this milestone....

Man, that tampa bay commute sucks balls. I would never move to that area if I had to commute.

Yeah, I was down in that area last month and every damn road had construction on it. Orlando was the same way.

A lot of miles.

I do about 1k miles a month 😛. Thats a bit on the high side 😛 but I do live in England and distances to work are suppose to be less then you guys in the states.

You must spend about 2.5hrs in the car everyday? I do about 1hr40mins a day. 50mins drive seem QUICK now 😛

i drive ~115 miles/day for work 🙁

that's about 30k miles/year, not counting actually driving to other places...i'm tired of the long drives. 🙁

I've done 30-40K a year for the past couple years in my 91 Accord wagon. (hit 199,000 miles yesterday). It hasn't a single repair other than Honda scheduled services in about 45,000 miles, and the last repair was a $150 speed sensor (the horror!). My daily commute last year took me up and over a 2,000 ft. mountain pass twice a day, and I drive that route pretty regularly this year, too. If I had a car that had anything go wrong with it in the first 30K, I would FLIP THE FVCK OUT.

My car is coming up to 90K miles. Nice 10yr old Astra that cost £600:thumbsup:

Wow.. I put less than 1000 kilometres on my car per month.

Must seem to you like you're doing scheduled maintenance every other day.

Heh, thats a lot, I've had my car almost 6 years and I've only put 60k on it. Glad to hear you haven't had any problems though 😀

Back when I was a courier years ago, I put between 55 & 65k a year on my vehicles ... well over 1,000 miles a week. These days my commute is 72.6miles r/t (exactly) or about 1450 per month.

Yeah, I put maybe 28k or so on my Hyundai in the first year. Lived about ~20 miles from work and ~35 miles from everything "fun" while I was in Georgia, so that worked out to maybe 400 or so miles/week, sometimes more. Since coming out here to Baton Rouge for grad school, my travel distances have decreased by a HUGE margin (to and from campus is maybe all of 10 or 12 miles, and I generally make the trip once or twice per weekday). However, I've also been back to Atlanta a few times, which is over 1k miles round trip. It adds up pretty quickly. Heh.

But it's ok, this thing seems like it'll last me at least the four or five years until I finish up with my degree, and hopefully a bit more after that. When I bought it, I knew I'd basically be driving it into the ground, so I'm not too worried about destroying its resale value.
