EE Question

1000VA 230/115-V

Does that mean I have a transformer with an input of 230V that steps down the output to 115V?

Hmm..

I would take it to mean that it can run on both 230 and 115V, but who knows... I don't think there is a standard transformer spec notation or anything.. lol

The 1000VA part is what confuses me.. Perhaps if we knew what the transformer was originally for?

Unfortunately, the question doesn't have much info :x

A 1000-VA 230/115-V transformer has been tested to determine its equivalent circuit. The results of the tests are shown below.
Open Circuit
V=230V
I=0.45A
P=30W

Short Circuit
V=13.2V
I=6.0A
P=20.1W

Then I have to find the equivalent circuit 😛

A bit unsure on how to go about this.

Ahh... Didn't realize it was a homework question, lol.. I can generally figure basic electronic stuff out, but that is over my head.. at least, in the context of the question.

<--- Not an EE.. but would like to be.
