ee folks: dram question, what are the adv. of 3T DRAM over a 1T DRAM?

As far as I understand, the main advantage that the 3T DRAM has over the 1T DRAM is that it doesn't require a sense amp right? I can't think of any other reason why someone would use the 3T version over the 1T version.

You can argue that 3T needs less refresh but let's just say that's not an issue is there any other reason why 3T is better than the 1T?

This really isn't an EE question per se -- well, it is, but it's highly specific.

And it shouldn't be in HT. That place is pretty sad, actually.

You might want to read up on embedded dram. There seem to be some different requirements for embedded dram so those issue might shed some light on your question.

I'm not an EE by the way.
