Educational costs are out of control...now high school edition...

General costs and fees for my middle school student, just got off the phone with my wife who's at the school. $75

But we are talking about publicly funded local high schools. I know that there have been many fees popping up over the last few years (art fee, supplies fee, etc) but book rental fee?

That's easy... they probably asked for a school budget increase last year for new textbooks, and were shot down by a bunch of old folks who didn't want their property taxes to go up.

So, they just found a new way to get the missing revenue.
