I was reading the Report over the new XP and I saw the part about "educating the masses" most of you dont care but just out of curiosidy how many people, instead of just making fun of it and saying that someone should do something about it, accually try to educate the masses about the world of computing and electronics in general. One thing that I have kindof campaigned ageinst (sory abut the speallng:) is the new thing that wallmart is doing where they TRY to make you use a debit card as a ATM card instead of a CC like its suposed to be used.

Anyways I was just curious. Does anyone in the passing by just TRY to help people understand the "tech" era at least a little?

When I talk to people that aren't as much "in the know" as I am about tech topics, I try and educate them about what is currently out there. The only place I really get to learn and share intelligent information about tech topics is here in the AT forums everybody else I try to make sure they have a basic understanding so it doesn't kill them.

Me on phone: Ok, put your floppy in the floppy drive

one of the masses: I don't have a floppy drive!

Me: Wha? That disk you used before, put it in the drive.

one of the masses: Oh, you mean my hard disk?

Me thinking to myself: Umm, yea, whatever.

Me speaks to one of the masses: [why a hard cased 3.5" disk is a floppy disk, spiel]

one of the masses: Oh, I see. So where's my hard disk?
Me: ..... :(
