Never really understood Twitter / Tweeting. A few of my friends told me about it, and said "its great to see what your friends are up to." My comment was "Thats what facebook / AOL (away msg) is for no?"

Maybe I'm missing the boat...but what's the hoop-la over twitter? I mean, people really care to read Shaq's tweet? That is big news? Not a flame thread, just need some education on it.

Twitter is best for business. For example, a restaurant tweets about new menu items or promos. A programmer tweets about new features of his/her app. A singer tweets about upcoming events or songs.

The problem with Twitter is that it is not for just one purpose. Some people use it to let others know what they are up to and find out what others are up to while many use it as a way of promoting other things they are doing online like blogs, podcast ect. Many people use it for research to see what people think about a particular issue and use it to basically find out how to help themselves by learning what people think. For some people, it is about doing what they can to help others by tweeting links to fundraisers for charity and such. There really is no perfect definition of what twitter is as everybody uses it differently, it is just one of those things that you have to look at how other people are using it and use it for yourself for a while until you figure out how it is valuable to you and how best you can utilize the service.

Yes, people do. People are more than happy to waste hours of their lives following celebrity tweets or even the tweets/FB updates of others. I don't tweet, and while I have an active FB account I'd say I log into it approximately once a month. People spend HOURS FB/MS/Tweet stalking people, I'm talking hours upon hours reading as much as they can find about someone else's personal life. It's absolutely absurd.

I often read people tweets when my train is late (which is pretty often when the train hits someone or something). I get informed right away on the problem and it lets me make a quick decision on what to do next. The train authority here is useless and they *never* let anybody else know on what's going on.
Just one of the ways I use twitter.

its when you take a small yellow bird's crap, and then dry it and crush it into a powder. then well... lets just say the end result is pretty impressive.

The use of a capacitor is the MINIMUM recommended to protect the (tweeter) from mechanical damage from excessive low frequency input.

I use it for three things:

1)NBA news. I'm a basketball junkie and a huge Laker fan, so I follow Laker writers, players, team personnel, as well as general NBA news people

2)Traffic. Our local traffic guy sends out tweets about morning traffic. I find that's the easiest way to know what's going on.
