Greetings,
I recently transferred from Frontier DSL to time warner Road-Runner cable. Since I have switched over I have had problems downloading from my friend at RIT, and other EDUS. IT seems that it caps my download speed @7k when with DSL it was over 300k. Would any of you know what is causing this or ways of getting around it?

Typically, requests for information about getting around cable and DSL caps are met with hostility and anger around here.

But that said, I do have an answer to your question. If you don't like your cable speeds, go back to DSL.

Seems very odd. RR NY usually push down 200 ?300 KB/sec. (B=Byte).

Call them and fine out what is their story.
