Actually this is major news. I use emule and would use this server. It *was* the largest and fastest by a multiplier of 4 or 5 easily than the #2 server.

I use newsgroups and emule constantly, and DL prolly about 10-20 gigs/mo and I dont know why people think edonkey is so 2003...I rarely cannot find what I'm looking for on it, can count on one hand how many bad files I've gotten in 2 years, and have NEVER gotten a virus. Cant say that for BT....to each their own tho I guess :)

I use amazon.com to buy my movies/music. Works fine for me, and wont get shut down.

But the quality of the content blows. Plus its stealing.

What do you use to access the Overnet network? emule?
Can emule resume unfinished files downloaded by eDonkey?

BTW, there wasn't a free version of the eDonkey client anymore was there?

Thats a scratch on the surface.
I just fired up DC++.
On the PUBLIC hublist there are 1499 hubs.
I'm not l33t enough to get into the "Special" hublists, but I'm sure they have lots of hubs too.

I use the official Windows client from www.edonkey2000.com (IIRC), and yes, it was free. I had downloaded this back last July, so they may have changed something since then.

I don't know the last time I downloaded anything that's available for sale in the US in current print.

If an album is going to cost me $40 because of international shipping and ******, I'll download it. And it just so happens that NOBODY ****** SELLS A GOD DAMNED SINGLE CD WORTH MY LISTENING TO on this continent.

and folks, don't be fooled - those razorback 2.0, 2.1, etc servers are all FAKE. you won't find anything when connecting to those servers.

Yeah I don't see a free client on their website now.

Anyone use emule?

I use emule. haven't noticed any decline in performance with the loss of the razorback servers.

I had the same problem. Even Amazon, which actually had the product, had zero copies available. How can I feel guilty about downloading music that simply is not available for purchase? Of course, it was only a CD or two that was like that. The rest of my music.. hell you can't even find it on P2P networks.
