When eDonkey Hashes shared files does it alter the file in anyway or does it just create a separate file that contains algorithm for eDonkey to use?
 
it doesn't alter the file in anyway, it just breaks it in to bits for sharing virtually...so your file stays the same, but you will be uploading small bits of it that are tracked or Id'd
