Pros
Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, powerful V8 engine.

Cons
Only seats four passengers.

I've actually never sat in the backseat of an FX..but based on their spec page it says that it seats five. Even more, in this pic there's clearly three headrests for 3 passengers in the back.

Maybe they meant comfortably, but given that it's a very sizable car it doesn't seem like it's any worse at seating 5 than any other sedan/crossover out there. Plus, they maybe should've put that in if that was what they meant..

Any explanations?

Even the FX-35 is a pretty fun drive. Nissan V6 is nothing to sneeze at.

It isn't a sizeable car. The thing is tiny inside. If you blindfolded someone, put them in, and then told them they were in a Jetta, they'd believe it. :)

I test drove one while looking for a new luxury SUV. The interior room is very small, my gf's Honda Accord has more interior room. I ended up leasing an Acura MDX which is cavernous compared to the FX.

does the Murano seat more than 4 ? I'm surprised the same bubble car FX35/45 only seats 4...

Except it's not the same car. Not even close.
The only thing they share is the family of VQ engines.

And they both seat 5 as far as I know.

it seats 5, it's ok, but with 3 of us in the back seat, we were pressed up against each other. it's small for a SUV, but about the same as any normal family sedan.

um, is this new? says all new 2003 fx45.

Not an SUV since it can't go offroad... and Nissan admits it at least.

I guess it's a similar situation to saying that a car like the RSX, Eclipse, or even the Jetta has seating for 4. Umm... yeah... Jetta backseat uncomfortable... yeah.

I don't see why an SUV has to be able to go offroad to be called an SUV.

Most "SUVs" at least have some pretention of offroad duty... you can take it on gravel road with some bumps without it begging for mercy. You know, like a truck.

It's a "sport tourer" or as BMW calls it a "Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV)"... it's just a minor difference for 90% of people.

I raced one without knowing how fast it was... buslength++

An FX35 should be a much more even race though :)
