Z06 is only available as a "Hardtop". The Hardtop (while a coupe) is a different model than the standard coupe. You can tell by the rear glass. The Hardtop is much shorter, and the trunk lid looks alot bigger. The coupe's rear glass window is long. The coupe looks better IMO, but I regard the Z06 as a better car.

It is lighter and has less weight on top for a lowered center of gravity. Makes sense.

Like I said, the one with the short trunk lid is called the hatchback.

If you look back in previous years for instance..

You'll see there's a coupe and hatch version..the coupe is the "hardtop" version that you describe, and the hatchback is the coupe based on your definition.

Even in the original link the Z06 is described as the "coupe", whereas the other version is called the hatch.
