Nice video, they didn't really get too in-depth, though.. Kinda related, theres a pretty nice Z06 going on e-bay right now..

:) all the cars are great, and I would do almost anything to own all three.

but I have a favorite, and they seem to also

<< Welcome to the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the winner of this test. A cursory check of other recent Edmunds.com comparison tests shows that the cheapest vehicle rarely wins. The Corvette breaks the mold. Not only was the Corvette the least expensive car (almost $40,000 cheaper than the Viper), it also swept every category except one on its way to a dominant 87.1 final score. When asked which car they would recommend to potential buyers, every editor involved in the test said, "Corvette."

on a side note, I just read an article, can't remember if it was Car and Driver or Motor Trend or what, but it pitted the new SVT Ford Focus (factory domestic rice) against the Corvette Z06..

interesting read

Why would anyone be surprised by these results? They are consistent with every similar test I have seen.

Other things being equal I would definitely take the Viper myself - it is obviously much more expensive, and that, combined with its radical, beautifully muscular design, makes a Viper sighting a real event. I like the C5 Corvettes for what they are and there is no doubt the Z06 is a wonderful car and a great performance value, but a Corvette is just less special, at least to me, than a Viper. Not to mention that it dominated most of the performance tests in this matchup.

Of course, I would take an M3 or M5 over any of them!

BTW, Val, no offense but your sig is not helping your case any.

its not meant to help my case, its meant to make all the low self-esteem degenerates of the board feel better about themselves

because despite the fact that the Corvette just finished another year as the best-selling high-performance car in America, and that it blows the doors off anything under $75k, people on this board still fail to recognize the C5 (and certainly the Z06) as a world-class supercar

:p

yes, it buffered out far too badly even on the multi-t3's here at work.. I ended up having to stream the damn 56k version :|

Corvette is the superior car say the tests.
And I think that most true auto enthusiasts recogonize the car as a super car.
As for speaking for the people on this forum not recognizing it, well, what do they know? Nothing apparantly.

I personally would take the viper if I had a choice.
Corvettes are everywhere as well as mustang.
When I see a corvette now it does not turn my head in the slightest.
Same with mustangs, been there done that.
But it sure is a fast car and a GREAT bang for the buck, and you cant argue that.

A Corvette sighting is a rarity for me.. I live out in a small town West Texas, where 90% of the vehicles on the road are damn 4x4 trucks and SUV's.. there's a grand total of two (2) Vipers in town, and an assorted handful of C5's.

its a real treat for me when I spend a weekend in Dallas.. its like heaven, Corvettes everywhere.. lined up like christmas presents on car lots... Vipers at every corner, more Porche's than are countable, shiney new Lexus's, its like I drive around with a constant hard-on from all the sexy cars. :Q

one thing, I've yet to see a Bentley in dallas, but the other day driving thru my town I pulled up next to a brand freakin' new Bentley Azure drop-top with Penn. plates.. some young black guy, looked like a basketball player was hangin' out the window flossin' his wrist ice, smoking a cigar.. I rolled down the window and said whats up, he was cool as sh!t.. wonder what the hell he was doing in San Angelo, TX in a $350,000 car. :Q

I actually saw a recent Aston Marton here in Oklahoma City a couple of weeks ago - talk about a fish out of water. The richest density of supercars I have ever seen is in the Hamptons on eastern Long Island, New York. Out there, Lexus GS400~=~Ford Escort anywhere else, and a Ferrari in the Hamptons is equivalent to a V8 Mustang in any normal place.
