Me, I've never really had a problem with the interior build quality of the trucks I've driven. When I got my 96 Sierra, I thought it looked great. Now that I have my 03 Envoy, I still think the interior is pretty good. While I can admit it's not as solid as the Toyota Avalon, it doesn't "reek" of cheapness.

truncated the quote a bit to keep it reasonable

Yea these quoting quotes of quotes can get pretty ridiculous :)

I feel the same way - I don't see how people think it's cheap. I've sat in everything from Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, (never had the pleasure of sitting in a Toyota or newer Acura though) and while yes, the interior is better, like you stated it doesn't "reek" of anything. (Except usually Armor-All :) ) Did you trade in the Sierra for the Envoy? Hows the Envoy working for you anyway?

I don't mean to butt in, but I thought the interior of the GMC Sierra 2500 Crew Cab that I rode in last summer was quite nice actually.

If I was in the market for a heavy-duty truck (or even a half-ton), the GMC would likely be my choice.

This thread is no longer about the Titan so you can butt in all you want :) Just diff ppl have diff opinions on dash quality and such - I, like you and Spoooner dont see the big difference but others do. To each his own I guess.

Personally, I think the dash/interior of the Tundra and Tacoma is pretty basic and tired if you ask me.

GM > * when it comes to trucks.

Well, I suppose this might be a testament to how strong that GMC Sierra was. At around 1500 miles, I left for college. I left the truck at home because it was my first semester and I wasn't sure what parking, etc, would be like. My brother got in a pretty good wreck. The truck was totaled. He got it on the driver side by a Blazer going 40-50 mph. His glasses were tossed out the window from the force of the collision something like 25 feet or so. The police were surprised that he suffered no injuries at all, other than just being a little shook up. The truck couldn't sit flat on all four wheels.

The Envoy is sweet. I can't say enough good things about it. Tons of power, nice interior. The plastics are relatively hard (as compared to my old Toyota Avalon) but looks great once I gave it a coat of Maguires. The gas mileage could be a little better though. And I wish the inside door handles were the same flat, brushed aluminum look that the gauges and vents have. The inside door handles are chrome looking, and I don't think it matches well.

Wow, that sounds pretty bad, glad he's alright

SUVs typically aren't great on gas but oh well. Did you get the I6?

My friend had a Tacoma (99) before he traded it in for a Protege5. In all honesty the dash didn't impress me too much (then again he was missing the ac vents and he was always messing with his stereo system though)

Yep. Very smooth engine, though it gets loud at higher RPMs. What's great about it is that the noise levels inside are about the same as on my 98 Avalon. Very quiet, especially compared to my dad's old 89 Jeep Cherokee. :)

Sometimes I can't tell the engine is on. I read somewhere that GM let one of those I6s run for 300,000 miles. They turned it off because they needed the space.

The Titan looks like a cross between an F-150 and a Dakota. But it's hard to call it a "Titan" when it's on the same page as a Dodge 3500 Heavy Duty Dualie...

The coolest looking full size trucks, by far, are Dodge Rams

The Titan is too big above the beltline. This causes it to look like a blown up compact truck. I wish I could figure out what the hell the designers were thinking.

I wish I had some freaking idea what that means.

i dunno about you, but the front of the titatn/armada is butt ugly. two tone bumper? wtf! and all those weird angles going off in every direction? the rest of the truck is pretty nice looking but i wouldn't be caught dead with the front of that. and the armada is ugly from every angle. wth is going on with the roof line?

I agree. :D

2900 miles so far, no quality issues with mine. Sure it's not a luxury interior, but I'm quite happy with it.

I like Nissans, that's what my last two cars were, but the design of that truck just doesn't grab me.

Titan a fine tow vehicle. It boasts a maximum tow rating of 9,400 pounds

Awwwwww, still doesn't break the 10,000lb rating... why cause you gotta have a Tranny to back up the power, until anyone else goes with HM like GM, they are gonna sit back and just be average ;)
