Thanks for the mix. I didn't have a chance to listen to the whole thing but I really like the choice of music so far.

A couple of quick things I noticed:
-9:53 - the last song drops out rather abruptly
-I felt the transition between song 3-4 was the best of the first several
-Your transitions (at least the fist several) feel very similar - they all involve an extended period of repeating beats to draw the songs together that seems to drag on for a bit too long. I think you can bring the next track in a bit quicker

Overall I really like the mix from what I have heard so far

Anyway - I really like it and hope that helps. BTW - since I am the first to offer constructive criticism does that mean I get to meet the girl in the picture? :p

I don't comment much, but when I do... I make them count. And I like this.... I am a big fan of Tiesto and very much enjoyed when I got to see him live at Coachella a few years ago - good work! :)

Sure :p

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. I will try to reduce the length of my transitions. I'm still not comfortable with the decks, so struggle outside the basic outro/intro mixing (which I botch up half the time!), but hopefully it comes with experience.

Really glad you liked my track selection. I spend most of my time on that, and hoping that's what lets me become a good DJ in the future. The bars/clubs in Sydney play too much random/hipster music. Its very elitist here.

Did you remix the tracks yourself? Or you just created the megamix from existing mixes and just spilt them together? I liked the mix, it was very good if it is your first time, but you should go rather with remixing the original tracks with your own content and release them separately, so they are 5-7 mins long no more and 50+ minute megamixes only for your live actions. Anyway good luck with DJing, I love the electronic music.

You should drop my two latest mashups in there ;) soundcloud.com/dj-wisp

Any who. Your mix was okay for a first timer. I would work on your times and transitions.

What kind of gear are you using?

I mixed the tracks myself, so selected the tracks and the playing order and then did the transitions from one track to another. I'm not nearly as talented to actually remix songs, plus I'm pretty busy with my day job, so I'm focusing purely on the DJ aspect and not EDM. My dream is to have a weekly residence at a semi-popular club and really get a good vibe going. Hopefully it's achievable.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm using a Denon MC6000 so mix on the computer. But I can beatmatch properly, so I can easily jump onto CD-DJs. Beatmatching is so fun, you get lost in the groove!

I listened to 'Tonight is the Night', its pretty good. Maybe we'll have an ATOT club night some day!
