Also, Sony's consoles were/are the worst for hardware failures - they have always put together their consoles with cheap parts. I don't know a single person who didn't have DREs on their PS2.

I believe every PS2 that I bought or my brother bought (new) has been fine except when I attempted to mod it ( I believe the chip was broken and then I flipped one of the wires around... bad idea :laugh: ). My brother bought one off eBay that ended up with some issues, but that was used, so we have no idea how it was taken care of.

I ain't sayin' they're perfect, but hell, my 360 is still running fine too.
