I'm attempting to do my first video editing. Shot 2+ hours of minidv and want to do fairly minimal editing and write DVDRs. Just want to cut out a few minutes here and there, insert a couple of 6 second long videos. If I can, maybe I'll overlay a little audio, if not no biggie.

I have Nero 6 Ultra's Nero Vision Express 2.0, but I'm finding it aggravatingly opaque. When I tried to cut out 3-4 minutes in the middle of a 55 minutes AVI, I just didn't get the paradigm. Poor dumb me. I tried printing out one of the evidently more useful PDFs that Nero has online about video editing, but for some crazy reason my HP4M printer won't print it. So, what to do?

I have a couple of versions of Ulead VideoStudio and think I may find that understandable. I got the Version 6 SE DVD with my Winfast TV2000 Deluxe TV card, and I got Version 5 DV with my firewire card. Don't know which to try. Suggestions very very welcome!

I'd go with the Ulead VideoStudio software, it is pretty user friendly. I managed to get V7 with my TV2000XP Deluxe. :p
