Anyone know any good free software to edit .TS files? (like cut out scenes, commercials from HD tv, etc)? I used Womble trial but the file doesn't seem to work right after. If I skip ahead it will freeze or run horrible (but the unedited file works fine)

Anyone know anything else?

VideoReDo works great for that, but I believe you have to pay for the full version. You can also try a program called 'HDTVtoMPEG2', but since that edits only to the GOP ("groups of pictures") instead of to the frame (which is probably also what that Womble program does), the output files often show incorrect play times or have other issues. I've had no such problems with VideoReDo in the time I used it.

Thanks for the info. I tried out VideoReDo and really liked it. The file loaded fine and didn't freeze after, but I had a LOT of artifacts. So not sure what to do to stop that. (Like pink and green boxes type of artifacts)

HDTV2MPEG as noted.

Edit - for those wondering .TS = Transport Stream
