editing PDFs through photoshop...

how come when i try editing a PDF through photoshop it sets the default pixel size to 72? i want the edited pdf to be just like the old one....what resolution is it?

personally i use illustrator to edit pds - no resolution. maybe when the person that created the original selected a low dpi.

illustrator is excellent for pdf editing
