Too many rumors, I want facts!!!

btw, what is a "HDTV connector"? DVI works just fine for HDTV. I use a DVI to HDMI connector for mine.

edit, after clicking the link again, they've edited the article. Fixing many typos.. and adding more rumors. *sigh* unless ddogg edited the link?

Seriously though, dual slot means no AMR for Nforce motherboards, it simply wont fit. (unless you mod the cooling, voiding your warrenty on at least the top card.

And if it really is "only" one month after the G70 launch, that would work out great for me...I likely wasn't going to end up upgrading until late summer anyway.

Edit: Assuming that neither the G70 nor the R520 launch turns out to be a paper launch, of course.

I won't be upgrading my video card for another year. By that time, I think we'll have the performance/prices worked out on these new cards ;)

Big and hot and power hungry....blah blah blah.

I remember well.

Do not care about any of the above for ATI or nV personally.

What I thought was interesting about that article was more confirmation the OEMs are building G70s so June 21 is not a paper launch. Good stuff.

Same source:

"There are a number of G70 cards floating around in the Computex and i guess you guys have seen enough of the G70 close up shots on many websites so here's one G70 that we have put together. We have a taste of the G70 card power in 3DMark but we can't say much at this point of time. The score looks real promising indeed so ATi Crossfire's world record 3DMark05 score of 15498 will probably survive for another two weeks more until G70 comes along. Of course the real battle will begin when R520 arrives in late July."

"...ATi seems pretty confident about their R520 to match up and even surpass the NVIDIA G70 so we shall see about it." Wow, thats good news. Sounds like both cards are shaping up to be powerhouses.

i wonder how much 2 g70s in sli would generate in 3dmark05 since they're hinting that a single g70 would beat the 15k mark!! close to 30k?!!

Even though this *supposedly* won't be a paper launch, I wonder what prices on these cards at launch will be? If they are reasonable, I am thinking I will have to put off upgrading. Funny they come out the same day as BF2, the game I am looking forward to most, especially with a new build.

It doesn?t exactly double performance, so maybe you?ll need to over clock a few things before 30k

Why? Two dual slot 6800U's worked, barely.

Depends on the board for the "barely"- Asus boards have extra room to accomodate dual slot.

Time to dig thru the archives and find the names of the people complaining about the 2 slot design to see if they are saying its ok now.
