Edited:Sorry about that, I will repost the entire message to Brag & Moan...

For those of you lamenting that your item is backordered w/CompUSA and you missed out on the rebate, too, I have an Iomega rebate form in from of me - it reads in part....

<< Include copies of store reciept(s)/invoices dated between 12/30/2000 and 3/31/2001 (no purchase orders accepted), with Iomega CDRW 12/10/32 drive purchases circled.

<snip>....</snip> Mail-in requests must be received by 4/30/2001
>>

Stop by and pick up a rebate form from your local CompUSA, or you may be able to snag a form from their website, or Iomega's, for that matter.

So my friends, there is still hope to lower the price on this flaming hot deal!

Again, it pays to read the Hot Deals Forum!!!:D

Thanks to all you folks who have posted deals and helped my to max out my credit cards!

well, i talked with a few CS people from various companies (Staples, buy.com) and generally the deal is you must place your order by the purchase date, but it arrives after that date, that's ok, as long as you make it by the postmark date. if you think that is not going to happen, get on the horn and bitch at the store at which you bought it to refund that rebate to you. it works. i was worried that i wasn't going to make it in the window for the quantum fireball plus LM deal at buy.com, but i got it worked out.

Pogomips - that online rebate form from Iomega specifies a purchase date period of between 1/01/01 and 3/31/01... if anyone finds the rebate form in PDF format that covers purchases from 12/30/00 through to the end of March, like the one that you apparently have there, it'd be great! The point that's causing most of us undue stress (I think) is that for those of us who purchased the drive before Jan 1st, the rebate form (good on purchases up to Dec 31st) has to be received by Iomega by Jan 31st! If there's a third rebate form, we can all relax. :)

This has been COVERED TO DEATH. THere are two PDF's with one going prior to 12/31 and the other 1/1 and after. i rally doubt there is anyone confused about this. Yes, CompUSA had a third form that was 12/30... but who cares, is there really anyone out there who doesn't know this yet :)

If everyone knew, would they ask?

When they ship it the invoice might not even show the ordered on date(I think that's how my Staples invoice was), just the day they processed(shipped) your order, so having the 12/30-3/31 form would be great to avoid any possible mixups.
