The data server process is not running
Right now the data server machine is up, but the process that actually serves the data is not running. This is probably because we're in the middle of upgrading the server software, or preparing for a quick reboot. These outages are usually brief (10-15 minutes). Please try back again soon.

For more information about previous outages, please check our Technical News page.

Disabled: We are currently turned off at Arecibo Observatory. This may be due to hardware maintenance or another project at the Observatory is transmitting (and we are purposefully shut off to avoid aquisition of data contaminated with large bursts of radio frequency interference).

FYI! 🙁

Cheers for the info, Engineer 🙂

It is this exact reason why we run public SetiQueues. If you are currently not using one, then I seriously suggest that you set up your Seti clients to use one listed in the stickied thread at the top of the DC forum!

131 waiting WUs in my home queue... 🙂

That's 6-7 days of work for my home queue.

Thanks for the info Engineer. 🙂

Update: Up but dropping connections....

Data Server Status
The data server is up and running, but dropping connections
Right now the data server machine is up, but not all clients are able to connect. This is due to our server being swamped with requests, and usually happens right after a server outage, or if there are greater network/database problems we are currently trying to fix. Please try connecting later.

For more information about previous outages, please check our Technical News page.

This is going to hurt production for a lot of service installs are not pointed to TeAm Qs and they will be idle after they finish the "next" WU. 🙁

It appears that the Seti Server is trying to come back.

Notice the little trickle of action!

Q Operators might want to stop downloading new WUs for a while. This is the time period (restart of servers with heavy demand) that a lot of garbled WUs get sent out. I'd suggest we wait until later in the day. 😉

Done 🙂

Just gotta remember to change it back to enabled earlier 😉

Sorry, something happened with my server/adsl connection. It is up and running now (after a reboot). Normally any outages on my end that may occur are only a few hours, but I was out of town this weekend and have only just got back. Apologies for that.
