OK, cable went down, finally came back. LD wants me to ship Dualeron to him for game server, took server offline again to tear it apart. Server rebuilt using a K6-2 :( and I am slowly bringining it back online. pproxy is back online, and web page. However stats are not being updated til tommorow night and bbs might or might not work, but will be up by tommorow night.

I'm trying to get the UT Server back so Mech doesn't have to go through withdrawls too long. ;)

Jay

P.S. Please note that jator.ods.org is no longer valid. Please switch your address to jator.2y.net

P.S.S. BBS is now up as well. Everything is working except Stats updates. I have to do those manually for a little while.

No, actually I am on Road Runner in Florida. They don't have a record of the service being down in my area, so they are sending a Tech out....SATURDAY!!!! :(

With the uncertainty of my server for the next few days, I went ahead and redirected jator.2y.net to Mika's server, so anyone using my pproxy will get blocks from Mika and not me for now. Sorry for the headaches fellas.

Hey Jay. Question for ya, Are you willing to cross ship the dual-a-ron? I am undoing the gamebox today so that I can try to get it shipped out today. Any chance I could convince you to ship the Dual-A-Ron durring this downtime. That would get both of these machines up sooner.

Note: If you cable service is like mine, then you modem might just magically start working. For about 3 weeks my service was tempermental. One of the Cable TV techs kept changeing my connection on my node, and it would break. Could be something like that.

Cable is back up.

LD, I'd be willing to cross ship, but I probably won't be able to tear down this one til tommorow night, which means I can't get it out before Wed. THat, and I have to find a box to ship it in, but otherwise that's fine for me.

E-mail me if you have any other questions.

Dragon,

Most of the blocks got flushed. THere was a period of about 6 hours when my link was a dead link. If so, and you don't have nofallback enabled, they went to DNet directly. Sorry if they did. I forgot to swith my domain to mika's for a few hours, I was at work.

Now this is odd, nofallback is set to true and yet I missing about 400 blocks for today. I checked my computers and they are still cracking. I can't check the dnet stats either because there are other computers that flush right to dnet......

Yeah, cable does that sometimes. I just unplug the power to the router and plug back in. Then restart system. Always works:). Another thing, since I put Win2k on the system, it has only happened once.

hey Jay (or anyone else), I don't suppose you'd be interested in a ppro200@233 with 512k cache to use as a server. I'd probably set one up, but the fastest connection I have available is 56k modem. It runs great as a server, at least on LAN, but forget playing on it while it is running as server. Wish I had some options for front bus speeds, but you know how those intel motherboards are....

Just a thought if we have need for another server for the team :)

I'l happily take it off your hands. I could use it as stats server, maybe. I'l figure something out. I'm collecting all the Ps and PIIs I can get. So I can set my own rack up some day:)

MooCow,

THanks for the offer. With the baby due in a few months, I've been instructed no new computer purchases. My wife thought I was kidding when I said I was going to sell the Dualeron. That would make a good stats server. I'll switch to the PII 300 when it arrives though.

no problem, just wish I had access to some bandwidth...

hey wait a second, I wonder if I could use my old school's T1? hmm...
I'll have to talk to the admin, he's pretty cool about this stuff. Course that'd have to wait until I replace this thing. Still waiting on all this socket A stuff the settle a little :)
