edit registry from slave drive

I have a HDD from a Win98 box that has some registry errors.
I cannot run .exe files. A infected file was deleted, and the registry points to this file when a .exe is trying to be opened.
I also cannot open a MS-DOS prompt to change regedit to a .cmd and run it like that, so...I have restored, fixed the registry, etc....

Can I install that drive as a slave in my XP Pro box, and edit it's registry while running from my HDD?

Or...any other ideas?

Thanx, Ron

That is a nice piece of software, but it will not work for me. I cannot get the 'bad' box set up on my network, and that software will not search for slave drives, only networked PCs.
Thanx!
