[edit]OK so now as you can read in my second post am having trouble overclocking. I am wondering if i should manually set my settings in the bios. However I am new to this so i am not sure how to go about that. Also, any help on the issue with degraded perf. when overclocked would be nice. thanks[/edit]

Im looking to bios flash my 9800 pro to xt, as it qualifies. However I would like to upgrade my gpu cooler. I am trying to keep my price low as school is expensive, but sacrifice performance as little as possible. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a sapphire 9800 pro 128 mb.

edit for tired typos :p

Well without any suggestions I decided to go with the zalman vf700cu. Nice heatsink. I had to use the thermal compound it came with though as i was short on money.

Well on the bright side it cooled my card down enough that i could bios flash it to a 9800 xt (i was a lucky one who got the r360 core and chip to enable overdrive)

Running well at stock xt speeds. I will push it a bit further tomorrow.
I also tried experimenting with overclocking my processor. I had a very weird result. I have a p4 3.0c northwood, running on a asus p4p800e deluxe mobo. now the bios on this motherboard has an auto overclock feature from 5-30 %. I set it to 10 (so 3300 mhz) aand my cpu score dropped 400 points in 3dmark? I dont understand? Anyone have any ideas on this? Oh, and i upgraded my ram, adding a further 2 sticks of 256 bringing me up to a gig of dual channel memory :D:D
