I'm going to call Comcast to order cable internet and perhaps cable tv also. Let's see what's the best deal they will give me to counter the $29.95 SBC DSL i'm getting now. Hopefully by the end of today, i'll have a plan with cable tv and internet for $30/month and 1 year contract 🙂 Wish me luck!

I've tried it and will be cancelling comcast to get on their latest $19.99 for first six month promotion! 🙂
I cant stand DSL, but yes cable internet w/o the cable is expensive as it is.

yeah DSL is horrible for me. It's slow and is down every other day. lol my first question to the comcast people will be :"What's the best offer you can give me to switch from SBC DSL to you guys? 😛"

well i'm going to argue for the $19.99/month for cable internet deal and the $9.99/month cable tv deal, try to combine them, and get a 1 year contract 🙂 sigh this is going to be a long day.
 
I've using cablevision for two yrs now. very expensive ($49.99/mo) after promotion. So I just bought a home and am moving this weekend. I called cablevision to give me the $29.99/mo for 1st six mos promotion. The guy refused because I'm not a new customer. So I said fine just cancel it and you do know verison dsl is 29.99 right? Then he backed down and gave me the promo. Yah!! BTW, cablevision is as good as it gets in terms of speed (I get 500-600KByte/s downloads all the time) and reliability. Just expensive.
 
anyone know how long the $19.99 for first six months for comcast internet will run?
I currently pay $56+ because i have directv and i will be at my mom's house for a few weeks while she's on vacation. i'll cancel comcast at my house and reconnect it once i move back.

hopefully they'll still have the promotion.

I successfully negotiated a 6months @ $19.99/month with Comcast for Internet+Expanded Cable TV. After 3months, they charged me the regular rate, saying that 3months is all they should've been able to offer. 🙁

these mofos charged me $21 to have someone come and pick up my cable box when I had disconnected my cable. If i had known I would've brought it in myself. I hate comcast. I switched to directv, but i still keep comcast for the internet.
 
I just went thru signing up for Comcast internet at Best Buy. $95 for a modem and comcast installation kit. The kit was a splitter, a couple cable patch cords, and software. The entire cost was refundable thru rebates, but BB gave me an expired rebate form for the install kit. Took it back and got my money back. The Motorola modem rebate checks, $80, were in my hand in 3 1/2 weeks.

Just got my first bill from Comcast. They billed me full price + $3 to lease a modem. After talking to them I got an extra 3 months @ 19.99 and the modem cost dropped. So far, except for the monthly cost, Comcast cs has been the best I've dealt with for a while.

My next move is to get rid of the basic cable ($50) and go with the limited basic plan. $19.99. Then sign up for Netflix.
 
man wtf, they said that it's $29.99/month for the first 6 months then $60 after. heh. apparently $19.99/month is only for "cable tv users." What other choices are there?
