If you have a EIDE RAID, and for some reason the RAID controller bought the farm, would your data be toast? It is RAID 0.

ummmm...if i remember correctly...as long as you used the SAME PROMISE controller...it should be fine. i think it was in the manual...so if you have a PROMISE controller...go read it.

it is actually the highpoint controller off a KT7 Raid. In the latest BIOS update they said to back your stuff up, before updating because the update would kill the settings off the raid controller. My problem was something else, but I couldnt get the data off before the mobo went away....

I wasnt doing anything really important. Turning off the power to the machine was the last straw. My machine decided it had enough of me. If I lose the data it wont be that big a loss, but I would prefer to salvage some of it if possible though.

stick it in another motherboard or raid controller. it'll work find as long as its the same RAID chipset
