I have googled for hours, all i end up with is UltraISO, MagicISO and WinISO, all which cost a ton of $$. There has to be a freeware program that will let me edit files within a ISO.

I am trying to make unattended install CDs for XP and Server 2003with SP2 and SP1 respectivley. (yes legal, with volume licensing) I need to be able to replace the i386 folder.

Believe IsoBuster is part freeware, part shareware (no timebomb, just requires registration to make use of the shareware features). The freeware portion may cover the features needed - data image (.ISO) extraction, boot image (.IMG) extraction, etc.

nLite should also aid a bit in your cause.

Believe there is also a Microsoft utility that can accomplish a great deal in this regard, although I cannot recall the name offhand. CDImage? Someone with more knowledge feel free to offer such.

Good luck.

I just did this last night. I used Nero and the freeware features of IsoBuster.

Search google, I also came across a FREE command line utility that supposedly extracts boot images..

I can extract with several programs, but I need to replace as well. If I could find a program that mounts ISOs like a HD instead of a CDROM I would be set.
