I am 6'3", 160 lbs.

I have incredible metabolism and have not gained a pound in about a year.

Please suggest some foods that will help me gain weight in muscle (as I work out 5/7 days).

Edit- Can someone reccomend a brand of whey and where they get it?

How old are you? If you are teens or early twenties you'll gain when you get older.

You need three things to gain weight especially muscle (and even then it is somewhat dependent on genetics)

1. Food = Take in more than you put out
2. Workout = Lift heavy weights
3. Sleep = Your body rebuilds while you sleep.

That's the simple formula

100% Whey - 10lb sack is also a good investment. If you are hard up, mix it with a cup of heavy whipping cream. You're looking at about 850 calories right there...lol

by the way I hate you and my cursed metabolism :p

Well it hasn't worked out for me because I haven't been able to put on any muscle, and all my working out goes to waste.

Also, give me a breakdown of your normal eating? If you are really serious you should document everything you eat for a week to approximate the number of calories. Some poeple have the perception that they eat very little but when they add it up it is quite a bit...and vice versa.

What are you doing when you work out?
Why are you working out 5 out of 7 days? You can't be lifting weights each day.

5'8" 160lbs here. Was 185 a year ago and cut out beer, soda and fried foods. Hit the gym twice a week, once for hoops, the other to do some fat burning and light weights.

For gaining weight (which I'm looking to do now that I lost all that fat), I'm sticking to lean high protein foods.

Well, what supplements are you taking. Sorry to say, but without proper supplementation, you won't get very far. And what does your workout schedule consist of?

There is no magic food to eat that will make you gain muscle.

You gain mascle by lifting heavy weights. Do that while eating a macro-nutrient balanced diet and you'll begin to see results.

*macro-nutrients are protein, carbohydrates and fat. You need all three in your diet.

You need to start eating some incredibly fatty foods. Fast food everyday, take several protein shakes a day, and do exercises in short sets (4-6) and not long (8-10). Just about anyone in your situation should be able to put on some pounds doing that...

go to T-nation.com home of Biotest Supplements

Great overall site to discuss supplements and workouts.
They make good quality stuff and because you can buy it directly from them, it's a bit cheaper than going to a GNC-type place.

As for protein powders, their Metabolic Drive stuff is second-to-none. All the flavors are good. Great powder to take before you go to bed at night.

I also take the ZMA (highly recommend and its cheap) and the Alpha Male (not for everyone) which has worked great thus far. I'm planning on purchasing some Flameout when it gets back in stock as well.

Since I started all this, I've gained 15 pounds of lean muscle and people are making comments to me every day on how cut I look.

So are you supposed to drink the protein shake before or after a workout. Also, how many times a week do you exercise?

Sorry for the late response. You ideally want to drink this type of protein shake shortly before you go to bed because it is a "slow release" protein.

That's a load of rubbish. You most certainly can get far with out buying over priced and over hyped crap from a health food store. The best "supplements" are found in grocery stores in the form of plain old everyday nutritious food.
