How do I edit the guest win xp account name. I want a account just like the guest account because of the limited access a guest account has. Is there a way to edit the guest account name, such as using regedit or something. tnx

Go to the run dialog and start gpedit.msc. Then navigate Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings> Local Policies > Security Options. There are a few things at the top of the list (beginning with "Accounts:") that will help you rename the guest account (you'll also need to enable it since it's disabled by default).

I guess there is no gpedit in home edition as what google says. So how do I add a account to the guest group.

Not sure if it is doable in XP Home, but if it makes you feel any better it is a snap in XP Pro. Sorry about that. :(

Try this, not using XP Home myself, but from what I read from a couple of other sites it should probably work:
(Enable the Guest account normally, if you haven't already
Start>>Run
rundll32.exe netplwiz.dll,UsersRunDll
Select the Guest account, choose Properties
Change the user name, apply changes.
