EDIT:
I decided to get the Shuttle. We shall see if Mike's In-depth Review agrees with AT's In-depth Review. :)

As above. Yes or no. If I knew how to make a poll, I would've done it that way. I am ordering today, one way or the other.

The Shuttle is fine......just don't get a huge H/S Fan combo because they won't install easily.........if at all!;) Also, the new KR7's are also available with ATA-133 on both the RAID and regular IDE channels if that intrests you.........................I've owned both now, and like I said, the Shuttle appears to do almost everything the Abit does, but, to be honest, I like the layout of the KR7's better and the boards seem to be of a bit higher quality IMHO!;) But............it's all about choice! If money isn't a huge problem...............I'd personally go with the KR7. If money is a concern, go with the Shuttle, but, be sure and check to be sure your H/S fan will fit before buying one!:)

Good Luck!:) No matter which you choose, they are both fine choices!

Thanks, ToBeMe. I'll be using a FOP32-1, which pretty much fits anywhere...it fits with room to spare on my ABit KT7.

Wow, you've owned BOTH? Any issues with either? Be honest and blunt, please.

ABIT...seems to be the 266 board of choice according to most reviews I've read. $22 is a tiny diff in the long run (however long you'll own the board, that is). I'll see if I can find some of the comparoes I've read...can't recall everthing off the top of my head.

EDIT- I installed a Alpha PAL-8045 on my brother's rig I just built for him (ABIT KR7 mobo) and it fit very nicely for such a freaking huge heatsink.

Hi Fausto,

I've read the KR7AR vs. AV35GTR over at Legionhardware. They picked the Shuttle, basically due to the CPU socket being oriented better....*fap*fap*fap*, right? ;) They are essentially tied in benchies.

And you're right: $22 is nothing in the long run. I'll have the board at least a year. Leaning heavily towards the Abit right now...just...waiting....for a few more....opinions.

Could you put up a link to the comparison at LHW? I seem to be too retarded to find it on my own..
