@Gizmo j your heart and intentions are in the right place, I do not think you plan or brain are in the right place. Noble idea however as others have stated it isn’t perfect. I’d shelve the idea for now until you can figure out a better way to introduce the idea to others.
Also as stated above volunteering some time to help out others isn’t a bad thing to do. I recommend you keep it simple because you have a few things to work on regarding yourself.
For several years I made food and/or helped out the less fortunate at a nearby Church. Fun and rewarding plus it taught me to shop more effectively by staying to a budget because meals were predetermined and each pot had to feed something like 8 to 10 people for $20 total cost give or take a little bit. Food was basic and simple but always hot food. I found serving people who typically were not served food rewarding and be aware some of these people have difficulty communicating and others have difficulty showing gratitude and that’s fine. I was doing it to feel better by helping other. Crap even sitting and having a basic meal while talking to Calvin(?) about what he was doing or watching on TV and sometimes where he was traveling to was great. Calvin had Down’s syndrome but didn’t need much care, he did need guidance and reinforcement. Some of those meals were wonderful and I think Calvin liked someone listening to what he did all month.
think about doing something like that because it is a controlled setting and you can start small which is probably a good idea for you and do more as you get to know people. Don’t offer advice just ask questions and listen and don’t forget to cheer for success and thank people for sharing.

I was at skid row to go to the doctor and a person I gave a flyer to thanked me for the list of jobs which inspired him to go into welding.

Also there was an update from bls, there are now 3 more jobs that now pay median wage and are most common:

Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks

Maintenance and Repair Workers, General

Construction Laborers

Don't want to sound a kill joy, but the typical person on skid row is not going to do a median quality job compared to people who apply for those jobs. A few might, but on average, nope.

Skid Row has plenty of qualified businessmen and attorneys-in-fact...

They just aren't licensed.

Drug dealers are not dumb and aren't in need of actual sympathy, but they say what needs to be said to hit the typical bourgeois in the feels.

In fact I was specifically thinking of a guy I knew who literally became a millionaire by 22 years old dealing blow. (allegedly! ;) )

AND he also used profits to pay for his college, after graduation he "went legit" and opened a successful Italian restaurant that's still open today 25+ years later.

I know someone who possibly murdered someone else(but no hard evidence to convict; victims sisters decided to go public to the news with charges even though I have a hunch they knew they'd be dropped)

I know someone else(#2) who is evading service for the damage a police drug bust on #2's activities. I don't think they know each other.

#2 was working two transportation jobs, including the county government bus service at the time. After his incident, he decided to bail and just simply failed to report to the government bus job but kept his private job. Tried to contact his private job, woman says he worked there at the time (Sept 2022), but then they asked why I was calling because it was odd. #2 then called the phone using a borrowed number, saying he'd pay up if we drop the case. Then when the sheriff attempted service, his workplace decided to aid #2 and say he doesn't work there anymore.

Then the third is the "kingpin" who actually does supply to both of the above. He didn't need housing, but his "clean record frontwomen" did.

The drug dealers usually wind up with housing issues and thus become adept silver tongues in convincing naive landlords who don't live that life. The ability to present a prima facie story regardless of actual underlying facts is a skill lawyers, cops, and other "law people like inspectors, social workers, etc" eventually learn. Hence, I do consider that crowd to be intelligent in that regard. Their life is essentially internship experience that the goody-two-shoes of the world don't have.

The 'successful' drug dealers are not on the streets or even dealing to the streets. They are not more than three levels above that and nobody knows they are drug dealers (often not even their own family). And lulz @ qualified lawyers in the jails or streets. That would be a very rare exception. 99.9% of jail house lawyers a.k.a. soon to be on the streets again or just came from the streets are the kind that are positively enamored with or easily lured into utter nonsense like the sovereign citizen movements, among a number of other ridiculous notions.

Idk.... PLENTY of people knew my associate was a drug-dealer! :p

He got out before the $hit hit the fan though and THAT was the key to his "success".
