I'm looking for an electronic (read - dance, techno, etc.) song that's a cover of a song from the 70s or 80s - by someone who sounds like john mellencamp, or someone like that (sort of rock-like).

It's a very recent cover - like within the last 2-3 months I've been hearing it on the radio.

Thanks for the help! And sorry it's so non-descriptive but that's really all the info I have to go on.

EDIT: I've thought about it and determined that a) It's NOT John Mellencamp singing, and b) I'm pretty sure it's a WOMAN singing (on the old song, I mean).

EDIT II: I found the song...it's called "Heaven" by Bryan Adams. Thanks for everyone who participated!

Any lyrics? I seem to remember hearing some kind of dime-a-dozen female teeny girl singing what I thought was a cover of Mellencamps' "Jack and Diane." Lyrics would help.

Nope, unfortunately, I heard it on the radio while I was laying in bed about to fall asleep, so I don't know any lyrics. But, just to reiterate (actually, I wasn't really clear), it's not Mellencamp...just someone who has a style like that.

Actually, the more I think about it, I am pretty sure it's a woman singing.

Umm... my girlfriend just asked me a question similiar to this and the answer was a cover to Bryan Adams' "Heaven" song.

Unfortunately, that's not it...it's less of a 'happy hardcore' feel and more of a dance, trance feel (sort of like "I See Right Through to You" sound).
