:D SOLD! :D The bad part is now when I look at my dualie I'm going to miss it. Dualies always get more respect that singles. Oh well, time to pick out the parts of it's replacement. :D

I'm selling my dualie rig in favor of a faster single CPU one. The parts included are...

1 x Tyan Tiger MP motherboard
2 x AMD 1.2Ghz MP CPU's
2 x Crucial 256MB PC2100 DDR Registered (512MB total RAM)
2 x Heatsink/Fan combo

As far as SETI production, it does between 10-11 WU's per day and has an average CPU time of 4hr 36min per WU. I've run 1200 WU's through this box so it's stable.

I did a quick check on Pricewatch and Crucial. The lowest prices would cost about $600 plus shipping.

I'll sell and ship all of it FedEx overnight for $450.

Please PM me if you're interested.

I'm going to get a single CPU P4 - probably a Northwood. And you're right, the MP's are quick, especially at SETI. :)

Good choice, but you won't gwet as many Wu's out of one Nothwood as you did from the Dually!

I can't buy them :(

But I'll bump you up !

Good Luck, man!

I know I'll lose some SETI production but that's okay, most of my SETI production is out of my work fleet anyway. This is my main rig and I'm looking to make it a little faster for gaming. I don't *need* a dualie as my main box and I can't afford to keep this and upgrade my main rig. :(

Oh, thanks!

damn nice price! wish i had the cash. Couldn't you just sell the cpus and get faster cpus?
This wouldn't last long in the for sale/trade forum.

networkman: I knew you'd be tempted. After all, it's a dualie! ;)

Freewolf I could get faster CPU's but those would set me back a pretty penny - nearly as much as a P4, MB, and RAM. Plus, I didn't mention it before, but I've got an XBox and to play Halo online you have to use some GameSpy tunneling software and it's not dual CPU compatibile. :(

AAArgh- you had to wait till after I'd ordered the stuff to build a briefcase computer- woulda loved some Dually action- could have stuck 2 1700's in it (already have)
Guess I 'll have to settle for the fastest briefcase in town......

I'm using an Enermax Whisper 465 power supply for it. I think I paid like $90 for it. The MB didn't fit in my old ATX ProCase (too wide). I got a SuperMicro server case (don't remember model but it's built like a tank and has lots of spots for extra fans).

BFC, <what kind of PSU would that thing need? 400? and do dual mobos fit in regular cases or would i have to get something new? >

A good 350w psu is fine, something in the line of Sparkle, if you go with Enermax, get a 450 and up 5v is flaky between 4.8 and 4.93

and yes it fits in a Standard ATX box.

"and yes it fits in a Standard ATX box."

I've heard that but it did not fit in either of my standard ATX boxes. The DDR sticks stood up too high in the MB and ran into my 3 1/2 carriage. I had to get a taller case.
