EDIT:

I just replayed the whole damn level, starting from the Assault on the Airbase. Same thing. The tank is stuck at the end of the street. I fufilled all the mission objectives. I killed every last enemy. I tried blowing up the doors to the building with every weapon. THis sucks @ss! I can't believe I paid $50 for this thing. :( I guess I'm going to have to use the "LEVEL CHEAT" if I want to see the rest of the game, huh? :|

Good morning everyone,

Some of you may remember THIS THREAD where I couldn't get past the final guard in level two, where you have to sneak on the truck. At first, I thought I just sucked and couldn't do it, but then I took note that the guard was kind of "stuck in place", similar to the infamous UT Bot Running In Place thing.

I restarted the level (the game, actually, b/c I overwrote my save...) and when I got to the guard, he was pacing normally, and I cleared the level.

Last night, I got to the 3rd board, where you sneak thru the rocket base, then you have to escort the Panzer tank. According to the walkthru (which I only consulted AFTER I got stuck! :p) once you get the Panzer to the end of the street, facing the stairs and the double doors, it's supposed to blow a hole in the wall and you continue to the next level.

Well, the tank is "stuck." It went to the end of street, now it's just sitting there. The game isn't frozen, I've been around the entire board about 10x already. I've fufilled all the mission objectives. I saved the scientist. I safely escorted the tank to the end of the street.

I'm willing to bet that when I redo the level, the tank successfully does what it's supposed to do at the end of the street.

I'm strongly considering emailing Gray Matter Software to see if they know anything about this. I've even installed the patch...no diff.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

RCTW sucks anyway. Bad story and killing zombies is so 90s. Anyway, when I played the game I noticed that enemies got stuck a lot too. Like one time 2 guards were stuck trying to walk past each other. They just paced and paced and paced. Get Medal of Honor: Allied Assault b/c it's a lot better than this overhyped piece of garbage.

I never noticed anything getting stuck, but I did noticed that the game is very poorly balanced.

That's why they make cheat codes. ;)

The singleplayer is a bit passe, but the multiplayer is top-notch.

Edit: Oops that was a bit off topic. Anyway, I haven't seen that bug - probably since I'm not that far (I just got to the area with the women in black clothing).

Bah. I enabled the cheat codes...skipped to the FACTORY level. Fine. I found that it took ALL my weapons away. So, I give the /give all command and I get all the weapons w/infinite ammo. THat sucks. I don't like breezing thru like that...no challenge.

But then, the Factory level is DARK as all get-out. Can't see a damn thing. I'm not liking RTCW very much right now. I may have to go buy MOA AA. I'm not happy right now...and it's too early to drink...coffee is it right now. :(

MOHAA was much much better :)

I am pretty sure the tank is supposed to stay there though they go like "you go ahead and clear the area" or something to that nature.

That did it! I'm buying MOHAA. The hell w/this piece of sh!t. BTW..I did clear the area already...I tried everything.

And maybe it's just my imagination, but after I enabled cheats, the enemies seemed to gain a whole lot of speed/accuracy...I didn't like it. I'd rather not cheat anyway...half the fun is actually BEATING the game. It took me weeks to finish the original Half-Life. :)

Hi Skoorb,

Well, I seem to be the only one having this "stalling" problem. It's really weird; my system does not lock up or exhibit any weird behavior...the level just doesn't continue forwards like it should. I dunno. I'll play w/RCTW again some other day, as I really do like it.

I'm about to load MOHAA, so we'll see what that's all about. If this one gives me trouble too, I'm throwing my rig off the balcony. ;)

That is a problem with your system, not RTCW. It looks absolutely beautiful on mine, and I haven't seen a single bug. In fact, I played it through before any patches came out.
