EDIT:
I have an 811S and at first it worked fine when I first put it in, but now after a I formatted the ahrd drive and reinstalled winxp pro, it wont burn anymore. I?ve tried so many different burning softwares, Nero, Record Now, etc.

Is the drive's ATA controller running in PIO mode (bad) or in UltraDMA mode (good)? Check in Device Manager > ATA/IDE controllers and look at the Advanced tab for each of them.

I don't think Nero plays well with the WinXP native burning driver.
Turn it off under "services".
I think it's the "IMAPI CD-burning COM" service.

What version Nero are you running?

thats the nero log

edit: another wierd thing is that, before when i would put in a blank DVD windows would recognize it, and bring up options as to what do with it, now it doesnt do that

edit: its like windows doesnt recognize it as a dvd burner, when i put in a blank dvd it dont ask for nothing, and wont burn, but when i put in a cd-r it asks, and burtns just fine

Control panel
Administrative Tools
Services
right click on "Imapi...." etc & bring up properties
change it to disable
YMMV
