he was funny before the kiddy movie days, and now even when I watch the older stuff, I think his newer stuff ruined it...

Overall not really that funny. His brother Charlie Murphy though on Chappelle's Show is friggin hilarious

he was funny until he started doing crappy comedies in 2000 and on. He was good in shrek and shrek 2. All else in the 2000 he sucks.

he is funny. he could release a movie of him taking a dump on a film reel, err wait, he already did that with pluto nash.. anyways, as i was saying, the man brought us 'coming to america' and pulled off playing various characters so well that he gets the funny thumbs up from me in my book.

His live-action movie career pretty much ended with disasters like "Bowfinger" and "The Adventures of Pluto Nash". His SNL work and early stuff was just hilarious though and his movies were good (Trading Places, 48 Hours, Coming to America, and Beverly Hills Cop). It started to go down hill though when he started making sequels and then tried to make a music album.
