Yep, people get emotionally attached to the products they buy and feel the need to defend them against every perceived transgression. You see the same thing with cars, boats, lawn mowers, etc.

Well, what if your side loses due to brilinear or trylinear or whatever the next optimization might be......?

Or marketing in the case of CPU's?

Sure if you lose a fair fight you should accept the loss calmly.
