I liked his show on radio and MSNBC, notice I said show. Was young but he had a good career except that he ended up on RT, wonder...

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/07/05/ed-schultz-dead-at-64-695288

He only ended up at RT because no one would touch him after he spoke out against TPP, which just so happens to be what Comcast fired him for doing. No collusion going on in the MSM at all which is what most people will tell you. RT actually gave him a platform to speak his mind about anything and everything. Most people you see on RT are people that the MSM will never have on their stations again because they said something that upset the parent corp.

I wasn't a fan of his. He was pro union and always fought for the little guy but his rhetoric was a little too "Sean hannity", or "bill O'Reilly" for me, that is, too alarmist, a little too loose with the facts.

But he was passionate in what he believed and did what he could. Rip

Isn't it something how this post remained so civil, yet the Krauthammer one turned into a shitfest with leftists happy to "poke the bear"?

Seems to prove that this place is full of lefties, and maybe that right wingers are better at being decent human beings. It would be easy to bash Schultz or joke about his death, but he was a human being who surely had family/friends who cared about him. When I said the same about Krauthammer, others basically said, "meh, fuck'em anyway".

So let's hear it, how am I wrong? Because Krauthammer spewed hateful rhetoric and Schultz was a voice of reason?

You didn't notice that K was welcome on right wing media and S was shunned?

As with any, RIP. Terrible news for the family.

Career legacy wise:

I figured he was fired because his show and schick sucked. Fatheaded blowhard.

Didn't he come from conservative radio? From what I saw of him it seemed like he tried to import the RW playbook into leftist politics and it bombed. In the end he ends up working as Putin's mouthpiece. Rise and hard fall.

Why not find out the real answer. I first started to listen to his radio show before he was on MSNBC. I think he was on a different station right after Rachels Air america show in the morning.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Schultz

If this is all he did in his career he was a success in my opinion.

"During his show on May 24, 2011, Schultz called Laura Ingraham both a "right-wing slut" and a "talk slut."

Never really considered myself a fan, although I do remember back in the day him making some good points in discussion. He seemed a lot less nuts than many talking heads in the media. I think when he couldn't tell the difference between Samuel L. Jackson and Lawrence Fishburn I was like, hrmmm, your observation skills are defintely now in doubt. Then he went to RT and became a Putin shill, trying to downplay/dismiss the clear involvement the Dump admin had with Russian spies. I'll stop there as the man is dead. RIP Ed Schultz.

Newsflash, 60-70% of America is full of "lefties", as so defined by the right wing state media. That'll soon be 80%+ once all the boomers are gone. No, I'm not saying 80% are full-on granola packing liberals. But 80% who are left of where the current GOP party sits.

I guess that's why Hillary won in a landslide. Let's just wait until November.

Let's not litigate this again. You damn well know the difference between the popular vote and what wins the electoral college system, not to mention that Republicans have used gerrymandering and voting laws to rig elections. We're in a situation where a minority of people elected leadership the majority didn't want.

I'm aware she won the popular vote. But if the country was 60-70% left leaning as was suggested, she would have won in a landslide.

Only no, actually, she wouldn't. The whole point is that the current electoral college system isn't fully reflective of population distribution and counts even a marginal win in one state as a total win as far as EC votes are concerned. The Republicans didn't need majority support, which they didn't have; they just needed to get slight leads in a few key states.

In other words, it's not that there isn't 60-ish percent of people leaning left, it's that where they live hurts the effectiveness of their votes in the current system.

I meant she would win the popular vote by a large margin. She won about 48% - 46%. That would mean a lot of left leaning people voted for Trump. The reality is that it is closer to 50-50, or maybe 40-40 with 20% that will vote either way depending on the candidate.

I was just pointing out the hypocrisy. Same applies to him as (nearly) any other human being. RIP, and may your loved ones find some peace in their loss.

According to the United States Election Project, nearly half of eligible voters (46.9percent of approximately 231,556,622 people) did not vote in the 2016 election.
