ECU Piggie back devices?

On ebay there are a bunch of ecu piggie back devices that say they will increase preformance by 15-20hp...whats the deal with these things? Supposidly they modify the signal comming out of the ecu or somethin...and they make your car go faster? Anyone try these, know how they work, do they work? thx...

I think it plays with the Air/ Fuel mixture like those fuel management controllers.

dont buy that "mugen" or ECU chip you solder off ebay. Some guy at hondasociety just reported his ECU fried a month after getting it.

if you really want ot get into it, you can solder and set up your ECU to be programmable from a laptop. There is free software for it by enthusiasts to program the ECU, and has features like data logging.

what car do you have?

this is the more popular one.. u can find these on group buys for around 250.. some guy made pig tails for these for another 125 ish..
