They were BS'ing you. THe ECS K7S5A DOES NOT support USB 2.0. The only shipping board that supports USB 2.0 is the RU version of MSI's new KT266A board (it has an onboard USB 2.0 controller).

The only way that you can get USB 2.0 with the the ECS board is to add a PCI USB 2.0 card to the system.
