ECS VIA P4M226A Mobo and ATA/133 PCI adapter

On my ECS VIA P4VMM2 motherboard, I put in another hard drive for storage, yet my Maxtor 80GB (it's old now) only showed up as 1.78 (around there) gigabytes, so I tried using a Maxtor ATA/133 PCI adapter, the adapter has a screen when booting the computer up and shows the HD to be around 79GB, yet the hard drive doesn't show up in My Computer; am I not allowed to use a Mass Storage Controller alongside my Motherboard one? I installed drivers and everything too.

Did you look at the drive in Computer Management->Storage->Disk Management ?

It won't show up in My Computer until it's been partitioned/formatted.

Good thing you reminded me about Computer Management.. I swear that thing hides from me. Thank you so much, saved me from hours and hours of useless work then!
